जलवायु पर संयुक्त राष्ट्र की चेतावनी: दुनिया खतरनाक रूप से पीछे
संयुक्त राष्ट्र प्रमुख ने चेतावनी दी है कि धरती को गर्म करने वाले उत्सर्जन में कटौती के वैश्विक वादे पेरिस जलवायु लक्ष्यों से खतरनाक रूप से पीछे चल रहे हैं। मौजूदा राह पर दुनिया करीब 2.6 डिग्री सेल्सियस तापमान बढ़ने की ओर बढ़ रही है, जो तय सुरक्षित सीमा से कहीं ज़्यादा है।
दुनिया भर में चरम मौसम की घटनाएँ लगातार बढ़ती और महंगी होती जा रही हैं। ऐसे में इस चेतावनी से सरकारों पर मज़बूत जलवायु योजनाएँ घोषित करने का दबाव और बढ़ गया है।
World Falling 'Dangerously Short' on Climate Action, Warns UN Chief
The United Nations chief has warned that global commitments to cut planet-heating emissions are falling dangerously short of the Paris climate goals. On the current path, the world is heading towards warming of about 2.6 degrees Celsius, well above the safer limits countries had promised to pursue.
The warning adds pressure on governments to announce stronger climate plans, as extreme weather events continue to grow more frequent and costly around the world.
