Saudi Arabia's main airport — King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh — reopened for international flights on Sunday. In early October, strikes by Yemen's Houthi rebels damaged two terminals at the airport, killing 17 people and injuring more than 330. Terminal 1 has reopened for domestic flights and Terminal 2 for international flights.
Attacks continued even as the airport reopened. Saudi military spokesman Major General Turki al-Malki said air defences intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile and a drone fired towards Riyadh early on Sunday, along with 10 ballistic missiles aimed at the southern region. The Houthi military spokesman called the airport 'never safe' and urged airlines not to use it, and flight-tracking data showed little traffic at the airport on Sunday.
