अमेरिकी फेडरल रिज़र्व ने बुधवार को अपनी प्रमुख ब्याज़ दर को 3.75 से 4 प्रतिशत के दायरे में ही बनाए रखा। समिति के 12 मतदाताओं में से दो ने दर बढ़ाने के पक्ष में मत दिया, लेकिन बहुमत ने यथास्थिति का समर्थन किया।
फेड अध्यक्ष केविन वॉर्श ने बताया कि महँगाई अब भी ऊँची बनी हुई है और केंद्रीय बैंक और जानकारी का इंतज़ार करेगा। 2027 से ब्याज़ दरों पर मतदान साल में सात बार और 2028 में छह बार होगा, जबकि अब तक यह आठ बार होता था।
US Federal Reserve holds rates at 3.75–4%; fewer rate votes from 2027
The US Federal Reserve voted on Wednesday to keep its key interest rate in a range of 3.75 to 4 per cent. Two of the 12 committee voters dissented, preferring a rate hike, but the majority backed holding steady.
Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh said inflation remains elevated and the central bank will wait for more information. From 2027, the committee will vote on rates seven times a year, and six times in 2028, down from the longstanding eight.
