लेबनान में 3 लाख से ज्यादा लोग अब भी विस्थापित, सर्दी के लिए 5 करोड़ डॉलर की अपील
संयुक्त राष्ट्र के अनुसार मार्च की शुरुआत से विस्थापित हुए 3 लाख से ज्यादा लोग लेबनान में अब भी अपने घर नहीं लौट सके हैं। संयुक्त राष्ट्र की सहायता समन्वय एजेंसी ओचा का कहना है कि दक्षिणी लेबनान में जारी सैन्य गतिविधि के कारण लोगों की वापसी मुश्किल हो रही है, और मानवीय संकट अभी खत्म नहीं हुआ है।
इसी बीच शरणार्थियों की एजेंसी यूएनएचसीआर ने अफगानिस्तान, यूक्रेन, सीरिया और लेबनान में 90 लाख लोगों को सर्दी से बचाने के लिए 5 करोड़ डॉलर की अपील शुरू की है। लेबनान मानवीय कोष से विस्थापितों, लौटने वालों और शरणार्थियों की मदद के लिए 9.1 करोड़ डॉलर पहले ही आवंटित किए जा चुके हैं।
Over 300,000 Still Displaced in Lebanon; $50 Million Appeal for Winter Survival
More than 300,000 people displaced since early March remain internally displaced in Lebanon, according to the United Nations. The UN aid coordination office, OCHA, says continued military activity in the south is making it very difficult for civilians to return home, and the humanitarian crisis is far from over.
Meanwhile, the UN refugee agency, UNHCR, has launched a $50 million appeal to help nine million people survive winter across Afghanistan, Ukraine, Syria and Lebanon. The Lebanon Humanitarian Fund has already allocated $91 million to support displaced people, returnees and refugees.
