पुणे मेट्रो की 23 किमी पिंक लाइन शुरू, पूरी लाइन महिला ऑपरेटर चलाएँगी
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने मंगलवार को वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के ज़रिए पुणे मेट्रो लाइन 3, यानी पिंक लाइन का उद्घाटन किया। यह 23 किलोमीटर लंबा कॉरिडोर हिंजेवाड़ी के आईटी हब को शिवाजीनगर और डिस्ट्रिक्ट कोर्ट मेट्रो स्टेशन से जोड़ता है। इस पर यात्री सेवाएँ बुधवार, 4 नवंबर की सुबह 6 बजे से शुरू हो रही हैं।
पिंक लाइन 8,300 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की लागत से बनी है और शुरुआत में इसके 23 में से 17 स्टेशन खुलेंगे। इस लाइन की खास बात यह है कि इसे पूरी तरह महिला ऑपरेटर चलाएँगी, और इसकी करीब 30 प्रतिशत बिजली ज़रूरत सौर ऊर्जा से पूरी करने की योजना है। साथ ही फेज़-दो के चार नए कॉरिडोर की आधारशिला भी रखी गई।

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Pune Metro Line 3, the Pink Line, on Tuesday through video conferencing. The 23-km corridor connects the Hinjewadi IT hub with Shivajinagar and the District Court Metro station. Passenger services on the line begin at 6 am on Wednesday, November 4.
Built at a cost of over Rs 8,300 crore, the Pink Line will initially open 17 of its 23 stations. In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the entire line will be run by women operators, and around 30 percent of its electricity needs are planned to come from solar power. The foundation stone of four new corridors under Phase-II was also laid.
