अग्निवीरों की सेवा अवधि दो साल बढ़ी, 75% को नियमित सैनिक बनने का रास्ता खुलेगा
केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने अग्निवीरों की सेवा अवधि दो साल बढ़ाने को मंज़ूरी दे दी है। इसके तहत जो 75% अग्निवीर चार साल की पहली अवधि के बाद शुरू में स्थायी नहीं हो पाते, उन्हें दो साल और सेवा का मौका मिलेगा और वे इच्छा व चयन मानदंड पूरे करने पर नियमित सैनिक बन सकेंगे।
सेना प्रमुखों की ओर से भी इस फैसले की पुष्टि की गई है। सरकार का कहना है कि इससे अनुभवी जवानों का अनुभव सेना के काम आएगा और युवाओं को भी आगे बढ़ने का एक और मौका मिलेगा।
Agniveers Get Two-Year Service Extension, Path Opens For 75% To Become Regular Soldiers
The Union Cabinet has approved a two-year extension of service for Agniveers. Under this, the 75% of Agniveers who are not initially absorbed after their first four-year tenure will get two more years of service, and can become regular soldiers subject to willingness and selection criteria.
The decision has also been confirmed by the service chiefs. The government says the move will let the armed forces retain experienced personnel while giving young recruits another chance to build a longer career.
