अमेरिका में 3 नवंबर को हुए मध्यावधि चुनावों में डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी ने बड़ी जीत दर्ज की है। पार्टी ने सीनेट और प्रतिनिधि सभा, दोनों पर कब्ज़ा कर लिया है। समाचार एजेंसी एपी के अनुसार डेमोक्रेट्स ने उत्तरी कैरोलिना, दक्षिण कैरोलिना, ओहायो, टेक्सास, कंसास और आयोवा में रिपब्लिकन सीनेट सीटें जीतीं, जिससे 100 सीटों वाले सीनेट में उनके पास 51 सीटें हो गईं।
प्रतिनिधि सभा में भी डेमोक्रेट्स के पास 221 सीटें हो गई हैं, जबकि बहुमत के लिए 218 सीटें चाहिए। इस नतीजे को राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप की नीतियों — महँगाई, शुल्क और ईरान युद्ध — पर मतदाताओं की नाराज़गी के रूप में देखा जा रहा है। दोनों सदनों पर नियंत्रण से डेमोक्रेट्स को प्रशासन की जाँच की व्यापक शक्तियाँ मिलेंगी।
Democrats Win Control Of US Congress In Midterm Elections
The Democratic Party scored a major victory in the United States midterm elections held on November 3, winning control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives. According to the Associated Press, Democrats flipped Republican Senate seats in North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Kansas and Iowa, giving them 51 seats in the 100-seat chamber.
In the House, Democrats reached 221 seats, more than the 218 needed for a majority. The result is being seen as voters' discontent with President Donald Trump's policies on inflation, tariffs and the Iran war. Control of both chambers gives Democrats sweeping oversight powers over the administration.
